Expressing purpose

Resultado de imagen para expressing purpose
Hello guys!馃榾
In the blog for today, we will learn about "EXPRESSING PURPOSE"馃槺馃摎.

Recently, we were talking in class how to use some of them, for example: "in order to" and "for", but today, we will study again those mentioned before and other that I found馃挋

That's why, if you want to learn more, stay with me馃榿馃榿馃榿

Well, let me explain you, that have more options to express puporse, but not change a lot, since just are different ways to say the same purpose馃構

For example:

"In order to", "to", and "so as to" express purpose in affirmative form, that means the meaning is the same.

Examples:
1. She wakes up early in order to be on time in the university.
2. He need to go to the bank to pay his studies.
3. I visited my grandmother so as to eat pupusas.馃槀

馃挕Also, is important that you know this: "so as not to" and "in order not to" express purpose in the negative form馃挕

Now I will share with you the resources that have helped me with this theme, since I now, that is not so complicated, but is necessary have it clear to continou improve the language, that's why I will share with you a website to your practice馃挒

In my case those websites have helped me to clarify my doubts and of course to teach me very important things about how express purpose馃槈

BY and WITH

Hello again dear classmates!
In the blog for today we will learn a little bit more about a recent topic that we have studied in class馃構 and is "BY and WITH".

As you know, is not a very complicated topic to do, since we just have to remember when we use BY or when we use WITH馃榾
According to the book, we use BY for means of transportation and communication, for example:

BY bus馃殞
BY car馃殫
or
BY mail馃摡
BY phone馃摓

And also we use WITH for instruments or part of the body, for example:

I hurt my finger WITH a knife.馃敧
He can not touch his elbow WITH his tongue.馃憛馃挭

Is not difficult, right馃構, but I found some resources on internet that I am sure that will help you with the topic, since show us the difference between them, explain us in a very easy way and also share us some exercise to continue practice.

Honestly those websites have helped me a lot to acquire new things about it and also to reinforcement my previous knowledge.

After certain verbs
After prepositions and

After expression with WHY

Compound Sentences

Hello dear friends!   How are you?
This is my second blog about English Grammar and I hope that you can learn a lot about the topic for today!

Accompany me and together let us remember all about "THE COMPOUND SENTENCE"

Well, as you know the compound sentence has two main clauses and that may be put together in more that one way.

For example:

- Mar铆a studies in San Salvador, but she lives in Sonsonate

- Mario studies in Sonsonate; he lives in San Salvador

- My mom works in the city, but she lives in the country.

- My cousin is studying for his test, but he is watching TV at the same time.

As you realized the compound sentence consists of "two main clauses" connected by either a coordinate conjunction or a correlative conjunction by a semi-colon (;), or a comma (,) which may be followed by a conjunctive adverb.

So easy , is not it?

And to continue learning I will give you some links where you will know more about the compound sentences and also practicing more

If you want know more about it, click here

Thank you for watching
See you then my friend

God bless you! :)
